Review: Nerf Zombie Strike Sidestrike (repost)
(Note: This is a repost of my original review dated 03/Jan/2014)
Just a quick review, as this is a pretty basic blaster. The Sidestrike is functionally about the same as a Firestrike, minus the light. The cocking mechanism is a top slide rather than a pull ring, but it has the same two dart storage mechanism under the barrel. Due to the cocking slide on the top, the tactical rail has been moved below the dart storage under the barrel.
The most notable feature of the Sidestrike (aside from its Zombie Strike green/orange/brown colouring) is, of course, the fact that it comes with a holster! The holster is a fairly plain grey colour, with a small black Zombie Strike logo painted on, however functionality-wise it's pretty cool stuff. It can store four darts, is reverseable (so you could pack double blasters on your belt), and it'll also fit a Firestrike in it, although the fit is a fraction looser!
The blaster also comes with six green Zombie Strike darts (but unlike the Hammershot and Sledgefire, no stencils). Definitely worth keeping an eye out for these in your local stores, and pick up a pair when they're cheap, mostly for the holster.
